Did you know that one of the quickest give-aways that you're an amateur and not a professional is your email address?

While it might sound obvious that "hotlips@hotmail.com" might get you the type of clients you hadn't orginally had in mind, monikers like "healinghands@hotmail.com" really aren't much better.

Why?

Because - aside from any cutesy fluffiness that they may convey, it also instantly reveals that you don't have a web address.

When you've got your own domain name (the latter is just a posh term for "web address", like www.amazon.com or www.ebay.com), you can then arrange for it to be "hosted" with the result that you can then run your own email address via your site address.

And the great news is that you don't even have to build a website - although you can do that at a later date, if you so wish.

The answer to the problem is to buy a "hosted" domain name (whic - you don't actually need to build a site - from which you can easily run email addresses.

So, how does it work?

First, you need to decide on the domain name you'd like and then all you need do is call the Obsidian Internet offices on +44 (0)1244 394200 and ask for Joanne. Give her your Quantum Membership number - and she'll do the rest.

(Of course, the domain name you'd like may have already been taken, so it's probably a good idea to have several ideas tucked up your sleeve!)

Oh, and in case you're wondering, you can collect your email either through the Obsidian webmail service, or Joanne will talk you through how to set up Microsoft Outlook to do the work for you!
